NISMO Juke vs John Cooper Works Countryman

Two of the funkiest subcompact sport crossovers go up against each other on TestDrive Showdown. We're looking at the 2016 Nissan Juke NISMO AWD & 2019 Mini John Cooper Works Countryman All4.

Special thanks to Nissan de Drummondville & Groupe Beaucage for letting us film their 2016 Nissan Juke NISMO for this episode. Visit their website for more information about Nissan de Drummondville and this specific Juke for sale: https://www.nissandrummondville.com/

We featured the 2018 Mini John Cooper Works Countryman All4 on TestDrive Spotlight exactly one year ago, so check out our full episode and review of this premium subcompact crossover here: https://youtu.be/VVB0HVPi9OQ

Since we've already driven the second generation Mini Countryman, we figured we'd mix things up with it during our time with it, and compare it to one of the only other subcompact crossovers in the segment that offer a sport model. Our Showdown compares the 2016 Nissan NISMO Juke AWD and the 2019 Mini John Cooper Works Countryman All4 in this ultimate sport crossover comparison.

Since Nissan discontinued the Juke after 2016, we managed to find the closest example we could to compare. The NISMO versions had three different trims sold in Canada, this being the first of three. The NISMO comes in black with red accent trim, NISMO sport seats, a Xtronic CVT, 1.6L turbo engine, AWD, and halogen headlights.

The 2019 JCW Countryman All4 Midnight Black Edition is also black with red accents, carbon fibre mirror caps with black accents around the headlights and taillights, 8 speed Steptronic automatic transmission, 2.0L turbo engine, AWD, and much more.

Our full tour and review goes over the similarities and differences with these two vehicles, as well as taking them both on a sport road test to find out what each has to offer, and which performs the best on the road. Both vehicles are tested for 0-100km (0-60 mph), handling, ride, NVH, and more.

We wrap up our episode with our final thoughts on both of these crossovers, and which might be the best option for you if you're in the market for a subcompact crossover and want it to be sporty.
