2020 Nissan Maxima Platinum

We're in Woburn, Massachusetts for a weekend road-trip through New England, including Boston, MA, East Providence, RI, Burlington, VT, Portland, ME, & Portsmouth NH. We're testing the 2020 Nissan Maxima Platinum to see how this mid-size consumer sedan handles an old-fashioned road trip, and what you need to know if you're in the market for a $46,000 sedan. Our full tour and comprehensive review goes over the exterior design and features of the Maxima, including full LED headlights and fog lights, Nissan Safety Shield 360, and the changes for the 2020 model year over the 2019 facelift for the 8th generation Maxima.

We go over the interior of this vehicle including the zero-gravity front heated & ventilated seats, heated steering wheel, 8" infotainment system with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, SiriusXM Radio, Navigation, and a 360º camera system. Other features like active noise cancellation, dual zone automatic climate control, rear outboard heated seats, and a dual panel moonroof. Since we spend about 2,200 km or 1,400 mi in the Maxima we end up with a pretty good idea of how this vehicle feels.

We then take the the Maxima on a road test through Woburn, MA to see how this vehicle handles the daily in-town live along with highway commuting. It's 300-horsepower V6 engine comes with Nissan's Xtronic Intelligent CVT and only offered as front-wheel drive. We speculate whether or not the Maxima could see an AWD option down the road like the Altima received, and what our final thoughts are for this vehicle.
